University Child Development School, an independent elementary school in Seattle, is well known for their creative programs and events. Regal Eye was asked to design and produce their auction catalog around a comic book "super hero" theme.

To achieve the comic book look and feel, we designed the piece to a standard comic book size. We used a spiral binding to allow the book to lay flat and fold back on itself during use. An exaggerated dot screen motif was used on each page to mimic the coarse printing screen of a comic book. Auction items were arranged into separate panels, with details such as directional arrows and whimsical comic style text and fonts used to complete the look.

The final project was printed using the latest in high quality, cost-effective print-on-demand equipment. Color dividers on heavy paper stock were collated in-line during the printing process for added savings, and resulted in an eye-catching and highly functional catalog.

The catalog was well received by both the client and the auction guests. The end result was a fun and profitable event.
